Take a look and see where your team stands!
Thank you to everyone who came out for the AGM on Wednesday November 21. We would like to especially recognize Roxanne Curtis, we greatly appreciate the membership support and feedback!
Our DWLL league has a rich history for building women’s programs to meet the desires of our membership. Over the past 16 years the DWLL executive has had one passion …to grow women’s lacrosse in community and across Ontario. Our DWLL Executive sits on the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) board for the Ontario Women’s Box Lacrosse League (OWBLL). The DWLL played a key role in lifting the Women’s Box Rep program off the ground. The centers with teams has grown from the original 3, Whitby, Grand River and Peterborough to now 8; Akwesasne, Arthur, Grand River, Hamilton, Niagara, Toronto and Whitby, as well as former OWBLL member Kahnawake,
Our vision is to continue to grow and we will continue to passionately work forward to growing a Stick Check Rep Program. While we were successful to host the first ever Stick Check Provincial in 2016 we unfortunately did not have enough interest from other centers to get a 2017 Provincial lined up. The DWLL remains committed to this program and is currently working at organizing our 5th Annual Stick Check tournament sometime in March.
2017 will mark a year of change. At our AGM we dissolved the 2016 Executive and voted in several Constitution changes focused on revising position to better align to our future vision. I also confirmed that I would step down from the Executive. I have had the great honour and pleasure to be the league President since its inception 17 years ago. We have the greatest membership and I’ll continue to support in any way but it was time mix things up. I’d like to say a special thanks to 2016 Executive, Deb, Kristina aka Frendo, Jenn, Tania, Kelly, Donelle and Tammy, things run smoothly due to all their hard work and passion to make this league the best it can be! We’ve accomplished a number of great things and more is to come!
Here are the changes that were made to positions.
-Director of Communications and Finance was revised to Secretary, Treasurer
-Director of Marketing and Promotion was revised to Director of Events and Promotion
-Direction of Box League was dissolved and new position Director of Rep Programs was established

Please say a special congrats and thank you to your NEW 2017 DWLL EXECUTIVE.
